Kirk Chambo is a dearly missed son, brother, friend and teammate. He was a star pitcher for the Peterborough Tigers baseball team for many years. He was also a friend to many in the Peterborough Community.
Kirk was diagnosed with Sarcoma Cancer in 2019. He fought courageously for two years before passing away in May of 2021. He was only 31 years old.
Kirk was a leader on and off the baseball field. He was a huge advocate of inclusion and making sure that everyone felt like they were a part of the team, no matter what. He also believed strongly that young baseball players should have the opportunity to move forward on their talent and drive, regardless of their financial status.
In his honor, his family, friends and teammates would like to carry on his spirit by hosting an annual 3 -pitch baseball tournament. This will be to raise money for the “Kirks Sandlot Fund”. The goal of this will be to help with a young talented baseball player’s costs, to play the sport that Kirk loved.
